This week is Nurses Appreciation Week! Here’s to all the nurses who make senior living a possibility!
Your nursing team is the beating heart of your senior living community. Having stability in the nursing team ensures that quality resident care remains a top priority.
This is a great opportunity to consider what you’re doing to celebrate your Nursing team and some of your partner nurses in the area and how else you could show them how much you appreciate them. Here’s just a few ideas:
Create a poster with this year’s move-ins – names and pictures – somewhere all the nurses pass through often. Over the posters, include a sentence recognizing the nurses for all their hard work, i.e. “These residents would not be here if it wasn’t for you!”
Celebrate your nurses at this month’s Town Hall with a cake and superlatives… You can create fun categories like “Most Likely to Jump on an Assessment,” “Move-in Queen/King,” and “Always there for you.” Your nurses will feel seen and appreciated – plus, they’ll have fun “awards” to keep in their space!
Ask residents to share public testimonials about the nursing team by leaving a Google review about the nursing team in your community. Reading these testimonials from residents are sure to pull at the nurses’ heartstrings and remind them why they love their job.
For your key referral sources, this is a great time to recognize the nursing teams and thank them for their referrals so far this year. (And ask for the next one!)
Your nurses are so important to your community; make sure you aren’t taking them for granted and you’re giving them the recognition they deserve!
